I want to know:

Question 1, Do the tail fog lights on a Euro LHD MK2 Scirocco illuminate only when the regular tail lights are on?

Question 2, Do both left and right tail fog sides illuminate on Euro models?

Question 3, Do the tail fog lights illuminate differently on UK models?

I have a US spec car and I am adding defeat switches to my tail fog lights.
In the US they run the main power wire to the US/NA side markers, don't install the tail fog light bulb and then run a jumper to the regular tail lights at the connector.
In order to install the tail fog bulb you have cut holes in the rear lens backing cups. Then you have to cut the trace between the side marker and the tail fog and add a jumper between the tail lights to the side marker. After that you pull out the connector contacts and change the positions between the tail light and the tail fog (the primary wire from the harness needs to connect to the tail light). Now you can cut the jumpers and add a switch to the tail fogs to turn them on and off. So at this point I want to know if I should use the tail light power wire with a relay or run a separate power wire to the tail. I have to run power in both configurations but it makes a difference at the fuse box,

I will try to answer your questions as good I can.

Q1: Yes, it is required that the tail fog light must not illuminate if the regular tail lights and headlight (not only possioning lights) are OFF.
Q2: No. Only the tail fog light possioned to the middle of the road may illuminate at german/ imho euro models.
Q3: Yes, please refer item 2.

I have seen some (LHD) cars with both Tail Fog lights on at the same time but passenger side one is not as bright.

Do you have the marker bulb in you tail light assembly or is that a reflection?

Question 3, Do the tail fog lights illuminate differently on UK models?

Both tail fog lights illuminate on UK models, at least on my Storm, where I have left the wiring loom totally original. A separate wire leads to the rear fog lights, from the fuse box and fog light switch in dash.

If pics needed, you'll have to wait till tomorrow, when I'm back in the UK again (currently still in Germany ).

Mal eine kurze Zwischenfrage: Hast du davon zufällig einen Schaltplan, den du mal "freimachen" könntest, wo das dann wie verschaltet ist ? Eine 2te NSL halte ich ich für durchaus interessant. ;)

What bulbs are the Sidelights that come on when the headlight switch is at the first "on" position on a UK spec Scirocco?
What bulbs are Dipped-beam headlights that come on at the second "on" position on a UK spec Scirocco? (I think the H4 lo)
