New NEO MK2 toys are in production

Beitrag von Doug Teulie »

The new NEO MK2 toys are very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got the red and blue MK2 toys shown.

(MK1 toys are not from NEO)
The detail is great on the NEO MK2s.
They are by far the best detailed MK2 toys I have seen.

For fun I am showing some of my other MK2 toys (thaks to Mr DS):

Still in 2 minds whether I should treat myself to yet another 1/43 scale Mk2 model, because what I really want is Revell's 1/18 scale model of a Mk2, which will come out, but not soon yet.

Yes I´m waiting for the 1/18 model too... :sabber:

The small ones are too expensive.

They have a Size like a matchbox toy and a price like a skyscraper...

Hope the 1/18 price will be more justified...

You can resist but in the end the TOYS will own you……

In the beginning I had one Scirocco at 1:1 scale.
Then a great friend gave me the first toy.
It seamed harmless, just a small toy.
Then another toy, and then another toy arrived.
Then another 1:1 Scirocco, and then another 1:1 Scirocco.
Then another toy, and then another toy.
Then another 1:1 Scirocco, and then another 1:1 Scirocco.
Then another toy, and then another toy.
Then another toy, and then another toy.
Then another 1:1 Scirocco, and then another 1:1 Scirocco.
Then another 1:1 Scirocco, and then another 1:1 Scirocco.

Then the great 1:1 Scirocco sale came.
All the toys were still at home but only two 1:1 survived.

Then another 1:1 Scirocco arrived.
Then another toy, and then another toy.
Then another toy, and then another toy.

I must have the Revell now.

You can resist but in the end the TOYS will own you……

Today my 76 got Aluminum Pedal Covers

Yes, you are of course completely right, Doug, but I for myself have decided, and seem to have succeeded so far, that it's better to invest the money for toy cars of anything smaller than 1:1 into parts and other goodies for my real toys of 1:1 scale :-)

Speaking of which: Thanks for the link to the pedal place, because I'm actually looking for some halfway decent pedals to stick in my Corrado. The Mk1's already got some, the Mk2 needs to stay original in that department :grins:

I like this set of MOMO aluminum pedal covers (as seen on my 80 MK1) the best but they are not in production now. On my 76 MK1 I stacked two of the new MOMO pedal covers on the brake Pedal and rounded the under side edge to prevent cutting my shoe during left foot braking. I don’t like the thin aluminum pedal covers because they cut my racing shoes and my street shoes get stuck under the sharp edges. The stock brake pedal cover did not work for me on the 76 because I removed my booster. With out a booster the force required to mash the brake pedal is greater and a larger pedal surface is more comfortable on my feet. With the covers I can feel the brake force much better and make the car dance out of dips and corners. It sounds like style justification but for me the brake cover is required. At this point the gas and the clutch pedals have no MOMO covers because they don’t need them and I can/t justify spending the extra money to cover the clutch (I have an unused gas cover at this point). The gas pedal cover holes are in the center. It was a hassle to get the gas pedal to fit on my 81 MK1 (I don’t recall how it went on the 80). If I am going to go to the trouble of covering the gas pedal I want the extension like the one I have on the 80 (shown above). Perhaps I will end up lifting the gas pedal??

Some stuff to think about when choosing covers (and toys).

OK, that picture wins any debate hands down, of course :hihi:

Hm, yes, I actually assumed that pretty much all pedal covers would be thick in material with nice round edges (pretty much like the ones I have in my Mk1) and not like what you've discovered, i.e. thin and razor-sharp, crap basically.

So, I'll have to watch out.
