Hi all.

This is kind of interesting. The Z06 is one the best US made cars. This Z06 is recognized as a National Champion in this kind of racing. Both cars (Z06 and 1976 Scirocco MK1) have the same make and compound of tire however the Z06's tires are wider. Both cars are dedicated track cars and set up for the same track. The Z06 has shocks that cost over $4,000 US. The Z06 has way more power. The Z06 is more than 20 years newer. So why....

I take it you had a chat with the owner and suggested he gets himself a Karmann-Rocco :grins:

the Corvette seems to be the wrong tool for that kind of slalom racing.
It is probably twice as heavy as the Scirocco, so thats "why" ;-)
But there will be probably kind of races, where the Corvette would be much better than the Rocco.
Perhaps the Z06 is heavy. So what about a car that is know to be less heavy?

OK the Lotus driver could get a bit faster. How about an M vs. Scirocco?

It is all the CAR!!!!! (proper heritage and up bringing)
I just hang on. It would be fun to do a Top Gear with the cars above............. Modest 4 seat, 30+ MPG, mid 70s Economy car vs. Ego cars.
And as Dirk points out, "....probably kind of races, where the Corvette would be much better than the Rocco." But that is why it is not a good idea to bring a 34 year old $$$ tin knife to a big $$$$$ gun fight.

THAT would be an idea that gets my fullest support :super: , but, it´s not going to happen. Can´t see Clarkson do something like this.
