i have just purchased these
Bild
they are 288mm 4 lug brembo discs, i swear. but i seem to get the impression from other forums people don't think such a thing exists :bang:
i must admit that searching on google brings up very little about them but does confirm there existance, but does anyone know if they were fitted stock to a vw? and if so which one or any other info on such a thing as the set up currently has the stock 239 vw11 calipers with adapters but i would like to know if i could get a better caliper for the discs.

any help would be appreciated.

@TEMPEST, any chance you could ask in the german side for me, please

So far the opinions on the German side say "Nope, not used on VWs as standard equipment." Possibly used on some Opels (288 mm diamter with a 4x100).

Golf VR6 and late 16v calipers are designed for 288mm discs. They are easily available. The pads are much larger than mk1's, you would still need an adaptor but the braking performance would be awesome!

cheers for thinking of me but i have compared both early and late calipers from a vr and because they are for a 288 disc the mounting points clash on the hub and leave no space for an adapter bracket :-(
