From Tempest
""""now one more chap coming along from the UK, Sean with his immaculate Mk1 Storm Scirocco""""

This is good news! Welcome!

From Dirk
""The Hornstein has a tarpaulin while the Bieber has a hard cover like on your pic. The line of the Hornstein is lower behind the tarpaulin and runs down to the upper sideline of the original Scirocco at the very end.""

From Doug
I think this newer version drawing is more like the Hornstein???

The shirt art is on a CD disk now. I am sending the disk this week. The shirt files are in Corel 10, TIF and JPG. Do I need to back the rev of Corel? I removed the fonts and made them art so the words will not font shift.

@ Doug and Kathie: Since on the German side the registration process for attending the Karmann event (Forumsgeburtstag) has started as of today, and since the registration form is all in German, I have actually contacted the organisers and on behalf of all non-German speakers registered them, including you 2, making it a total of 8 people from the UK, and 2 from the US (or is California a country in its own right  ?).

I for one still had to jump through the hoops of filling in the registration form, as I couldn't get away with the excuse of not speaking German :hihi:

Just for completeness sake, a list of people covered by the above numbers:

Doug, Kathie (US),
Tempest (little me, UK - sort of ;-) )
Jim (UK),
Chris aka 2cc (UK)
Yan (UK)
Steve R. (UK)
Dom S. (UK)
Dave (UK)
Sean (UK)

They just wanted to know how many people will be turning up in how many cars, how many tents (you're staying in a hotel, if that's correct), and how many meals (BBQ and breakfasts) they need to plan for. That's all been sent through to them, so sit back and relax :-)

@Tempest

Thanks!
We are not so sure about the hotel. We were talking about camping to save money but we are not sure about tents and things. Hotel is still on the list.

Do you have any news on the Karmann activities ????

Quote Tempest ""The visit to the Karmann private car collection (museum) is a definite now, too""

Is this true?? We can get in?
Our PC Hard drive is dead at this time so we have been off the air for some weeks.

@ Doug: Well quoted from the Corradoforum, indeed :-)

Yes, having spoken to Martin (the guy with the connections to the relevant people at Karmann) he stated that we're allowed into what Karmann officially like to call their private car collection, museum to you and me ;-) This will take place from 12 o'clock onwards on Friday, 18th of August.

IMPORTANT (also updated the first post in this thread):

Location of the Karmann event Friday and Saturday: Restaurant Remise in 49479 Ibbenbüren, Am Sportzentrum 30 (map)

We'll be camping on the grounds of the above restaurant (a farm house that's been converted), to keep costs down (there were complaints last year about prices being too high), near to the indoor/outdoor pool mentioned above. The site will have toilets and showers (next door sports centre).

Costs:
20 Euros to cover:
1. place to park Rocco/Rado
2. tent pitch up to 16 square meters
3. 2 nights camping (Fri and Sat)
4. showers

If you're too late, you can still pay on location, but the price will then be 25 Euros.

Food:
NO SELF-BBQing!!
Can bring our own food, but can't BBQ! Must eat any own food outside of the restaurant.
Food available from the restaurant (both inside and outside, same price, special Sciroccoforum-tariff :-) ), all prices in Euros:

German sausage: 1.60
Chips/fries (as there are some US people also reading this ;-) hi Doug :-) ): 1.60
Shoulder Steak: 3.00
Beer from tap: 1.00
Softdrinks, water, tea, etc: 1.00
Breakfast (optional), Saturday morning and Sunday morning, each at 5.60

The site is open to get into and out of from 9 am till 22:00 Friday and Saturday.

The dent guy from Karmann has agreed to turn up Saturday.

A spray-painter has also been invited.

In case of bad weather we'll be allowed inside a party hall type thing.

There's apparently a surprise closing event Saturday night.

That's it for now.

Was thinking that myself.

Certainly everyone on my side of the pond is silent in total excitement, counting the days till departure  Yet there is still so much to do beforehand, well at least I have (if just having to make a living wouldn't constantly get in the way ;-) ).

@ Doug: Re: Dirk's scribblings on the "convoy to Karmann"-thread, German side of this forum:

Dirk just got a bit confused by a statement that I had made a few posts further up on that thread, whereby I had said that if he can't make it to the Karmann meet at all (due to work commitments), that I would somehow get "my lot" up to Karmann, picking up other Roccos along the way (the convoy to Karmann) on our way to a hotel in Osnabrück, where we met up last year for the onwards drive to Karmann. Dirk thought I meant the hotel at the ring and staying the one night at the ring, which I didn't.

He confirmed that everything for the one night at the ring has been sorted, and even if he really can't make it, another person from the forum, nickname OSler, would take up his space at the hotel.

That's it really.
